ChemWerth's Joint VenturesToday’s challenges in the API manufacture and supply industry demand new perspectives and initiatives. Chengdu Credit ChemWerth and Tianjin Weijie – ChemWerth Science & Technology Co., Ltd were established to keep pace with the growing competition and trend toward supply chain globalization. ChemWerth picked these two manufacturers specifically because of their strong research and development capabilities, which are useful in the handling of compounds and projects deemed as being difficult. These strategic partnerships significantly improve our ability to service our customers by further expanding our supply chain. Moreover, these partnerships greatly reduce the product development cycle which help our customers be first to market.
Sichuan Credit ChemWerth Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd. (“CREDIT CHEMWERTH”), an API manufacturing company is located in Luzhou City, Sichuan Province, China. Established in July 2007, the JV is a partnership between ChemWerth Inc., an API development and supply company respected as one of the industry’s foremost regulatory and technical service resources, and Sichuan Credit Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd., a Chinese manufacturer of API with strong R & D capabilities. Sichuan Credit Pharmaceutical has reliable and strong API Research & Development and manufacturing capabilities. Staffed with 16 chemists, most with MS or BS degrees working on the API process development, plus a multi-functional API workshop with full QC and QA support, equipped with HPLC, GC/Headspace, IR and other advanced analytical instruments, Credit already has 12 APIs that passed SFDA inspections. With the present support of ChemWerth, their facility is in position to receive US FDA approval by early 2010.
In 2004, ChemWerth and Tianjin Weijie Technology Co., Ltd of Tianjin, China established a joint venture to develop and scale-up lab processes for eventual API contract manufacturing. Under the experienced and successful joint leadership between ChemWerth, Inc. and Tianjin Weijie, the joint venture demonstrated speedy turn around times in developing high quality, economically viable chemical manufacturing processes. The joint venture, Tianjin Weijie – ChemWerth Science & Technology Co., Ltd. has created three research groups with two organic chemists per group. Senior scientists lead each group and work on a minimum of four projects per year. This will result in 12 API process developments per year (6 lab scale processes and 6 commercial scale processes). These significant joint venture partnerships positions ChemWerth to select and manage custom projects creating a distinct advantage over the competition. For companies using API for generic drug launch and alternate source work, new drug compound development, key intermediate sourcing and contract finished dosage forms; these JV companies will enable unprecedented speed to market. For API and Finished Dosage manufacturers alike, that means more first approvals.
