Chemwerth, Inc. hires additional PHD for New Product Development

ChemWerth is pleased to announce that Dr. Anuradha Raghavan has joined ChemWerth as a Senior Manager of New Product Development.

Dr. Raghavan comes to ChemWerth from the prestigious Rockefeller University in New York City, where she completed her post doctoral work synthesizing small molecule mechanism-based probes targeting specific enzymes that could be up-regulated for bacterial infections like Tuberculosis and Cystic Fibrosis in humans. Some of her work in this field has been published in journals like “Bioorganic and Medicinal Chemistry Letters (BMCL)” and “Drug Discovery Today.” Her extensive experience in the field has allowed her to publish four papers in peer reviewed scientific journals.

In addition to her excellent work at the Rockefeller center, Dr. Raghavan brings rich experience from her doctoral work at Syracuse University. Here, she worked on the synthesis of isotopically labeled hydrocarbons to understand reaction mechanisms and kinetics. She has used analytical techniques such as IR, NMR, HPLC, Gas chromatography and Mass Spectroscopy to purify and characterize final compounds. “Dr. Raghavan joins our powerful New Products Development department headed up by Dr. Xiping Su at a time when the generic pharmaceutical market has become more competitive and FDA oversight has become more acute.  Her scientific knowledge in working with difficult compounds will benefit our customers by accelerating the development and delivery of high quality APIs,” said Peter Werth, CEO and President of ChemWerth.
